The Secret to Quick Low Carb Meals

The best way to have quick meals is to plan ahead and spend one day cooking up foods you can eat so all you have to do is reheat them when you’re hungry. However, not everyone can spend a whole day cooking weekly meals. These tips and tricks will help you with quick and easy meal ideas for your low carb diet plan.

Slow cookers and crock pots are fabulous for meals, especially if you work away from home. Before you leave in the morning, throw in a roast or some chicken breasts, add a little water plus low glycemic vegetables or onions, and set it to cook on low. Your meat dish will be done when you get home, thus freeing up time to work on the vegetable dishes.

A salad can be quick and easy if you spend some time getting it prepared before you need it. Gather all the things you enjoy in a solid low carb salad and get them chopped up and ready to go. It’s best to store them in separate containers, but you can mix them all up into a large container that has a tight sealing lid.

You can have meats and eggs already chopped in separate containers too. When you get ready for a salad, simply fill your bowl, add some meat, cheese and chopped egg and you’re good to go. Having everything ready beforehand saves a lot of time.

Meat salads. If you enjoy ham, tuna or chicken salad, you can make these ahead of time and serve on a bed of shredded lettuce for a quick lunch or dinner.

Low carb wraps. These are fabulous for quick meals. You can make them like a sandwich and fill them with meats, cheese, lots of lettuce and other veggies you like. Or you can make quick and easy quesadillas out of them. Simply add some shredded meat and cheese and grill in a hot skillet for a warm, toasty treat. Don’t forget, you can also put that ham, tuna or chicken salad on a wrap with some lettuce too. These are very quick and low carb tasty treats.
