Treating Prediabetes Might Prevent Full-Blown Disease | US News and World Report

Treating prediabetes aggressively with lifestyle changes and medications may prevent its progression to diabetes, a new study finds.

People with prediabetes who had their blood sugar returned to normal were 56 percent less likely to develop full diabetes in the five years after treatment, researchers say.

Pre-diabetes is an important topic  because too many of us are pre-diabetic or about to be pre-diabetic and don’t have a clue – either that we are in that condition or what to do about it.  On top of that, doctors seem to be insensitive about the dire state a patient is in when this happens.  It is a time to become intensively involved in your nutrition and wellness – to avoid the complications of diabetes that are looming just over the horizon.
