McDonald’s anti-obesity proposal fails | Digital Journal

Fast food chain McDonald's has rejected for a second time an anti-obesity proposal tabled in response to the growing epidemic of childhood obesity fuelled by junk food.

McDonald’s apparently thinks that the obesity epidemic is someone else’s problem.  It might be consistent with the attitude held by many (who have it all wrong) in laying the blame of the epidemic at the feet of the people around us who find it difficult to avoid the high carb, high sugar foods found in fast food restaurants.  From a profit perspective, I can understand McDonald’s stance – their profit margins are probably high with addictive and appealing High Fructose Corn Syrup in almost everything in the menu except for coffee and french fries.  And the french fries are carbs!
