Lizard Spit Shown To Reduce Food Cravings | Science News – redOrbit

A new drug made from the saliva of the Gila monster lizard reduces cravings for food, according to researchers at the Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg.

This animal study with rats from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, sounds interesting.   Of course it will be quite sometime before anything comes of it.  It doesn’t sound very appealing, but I guess saliva is better than other secretions from a Gila Monster!  My question is, who thought to try this?  and why?
