Then why is the gluten-free industry promoting foods that are worse than table sugar? Gluten-free foods are made with:
–Rice starch (or brown rice starch)–Tapioca starch–Cornstarch–Potato starch
Whoa – step back. Are they doing this again – offering up healthy “choices” for us in foods that end up being worse for us! As Dr. Davis indicates in this piece, gluten-free foods are sometimes packed with high carbs! What a mess. When the low fat diet was the craze we were (and still are) seeing low fat but high carb foods. I hope we are learning our lesson now on what the labeling says.
