Low Carb Snacks

Without a doubt, one of the most important needs in terms of food in an Atkins Diet or a low carb diet plan is an array of your favorite low carb snacks. Low Carb Meals are quite satisfying but the stretch of time between them would be miserable unless you have a snack, like a favorite shake, to tide you over. The other advantage is that they can act as a low carb breakfast, lunch, or dinner. And, of course, they are perfect low carb desserts. Snacks are usually composed of low carb fruit, nuts, and other favorite foods. They can be purchased from stores or made at home.

This is a video by a mother and her children on their favorite low carb snacks. It’s a good review of some of the suggestions above as well as some of their own ideas. It will give you some direction on which one of the ones above you might want to try.

There are 2 main points to keep in mind about low carb snacks.

1) Plan ahead to make sure you have snacks that you like always available, so you can easily handle hunger urges between meals. It doesn’t help you to tough it out without a snack in between meals. You might feel like you’re proving how strong you are, but if you’re hungry and doing without a snack, eventually your brain will convince you to break the diet rules and eat something really bad.

2) Take a mental note of when and how many snacks you eat. If you find yourself just chomping down low carb bars like they are peanuts, you may undermine all your other dieting efforts. Have a plan on how many snacks you’ll limit yourself to. Over time you’ll get used to this and not feel in the least much hunger between meals.

The following list may be helpful for making low carb snacks. The list also includes simple snacks such as pork rinds that are easily purchased. They are suitable for the Atkins Induction phase.

  • Sugar Free Jell-O
  • Cheese, in any form
  • Roll-ups made with luncheon meat, tuna, egg salad, or other fillings in lettuce leaves
  • Deviled or Hard boiled eggs
  • Pork rinds
  • raw veggies with ranch or sour cream as a dip
  • Flax Bread-
  • Buffalo Chicken Dip
  • Low Carb Danishes
  • Parmesan or Cheddar Crisps
  • Fried Mozzarella pizza-
  • Jalapeno Poppers wrapped in Bacon
  • Pepperoni “chips” – crisped up in the microwave
  • Beef sticks
  • Flax cookies or crackers

Hopefully you are following a low carb diet now.  If not, let’s hope you can find one soon. The Only Way to Fail is By Not Taking Action. Take a Look at this Diet Solution Program Review.
