High Fructose Corn Syrup is Bad for You – Can You Just Avoid It!…

A number of public figures have lambasted High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) as the cause of the current epidemic in sugar cravings and obesity because the rapid growth in our girth (wastelines) is consistent with the growth in consumption of HFCS.  I don’t believe this is true due to all the other changes in our lifestyles that could have had an impact.  HFCS is, however, a major contributor to this problem.  Other posts on this site (see the list of Related Posts at the bottom of this post) address why.

So what is the solution?  Should we just avoid it and find a way to eat less of it everyday?  The Corn Refiners Association, which represents all the farmers and manufacturers who profit from HFCS is suggesting exactly that.  It Sounds simple enough… that is until you comprehend the frightening reality of how much of it is out there in our restaurants and grocery stores.

Connie Bennett, C.H.H.C, author of the book, Sugar Shock, addresses this topic in the following video.
